It was a wonderful project to be part of understanding and rediscovering how women and their partners interact with their environment during all the stages of child birth. Being able to collaborate with Stiliyana Minkovska was a joy. Her passion and advocacy for new and thought provoking design made an immediate impact in inspiring my brief for a soundscape to compliment her exibit.
The soundscape was produced by combining hydrophone recordings to create the claustrophobic sensation of the womb, as a space, and combining these with ethereal like musical textures. I focused on the resonances of the instruments, allowing these to enhance the field recordings to a transcendent cosmic entity.
